Results: Under 17’s Advance to FAI Cup Semi-Final
Carrigaline United Under 17’s reached the FAI Challenge Cup semi-final today beating College Corinthians in a dramatic penalty shootout after extra time at Ballea Park.
Carrig led 2-0 with 20 minutes left in normal time with high quality goals from Jay Cephaf and Shane Griffin, but allowed Corinthians back into the game in the closing stages. With nothing separating the sides after extra time it had to be settled on penalties and it was a typically classy Shane Griffin penalty that clinched the tie for Carrig in the end.
A great result for the lads and we now eagerly await the semi-final.
