Seniors Collect Medals This Friday / Under 12 Prem and Under 11 Hibs Updates

A correction from last week’s news item regarding the Seniors:  The Senior team’s final game of the season is taking place this Friday April 29th at 7.30pm in Ballea Park (not May 7th).  This will include the presentation of medals for the MSL Senior 2nd Division title, the club’s formal presentation of donations to the Cork ARC Cancer Support House charity and possibly one or two celebratory drinks in the clubhouse afterwards.

CUAFC Seniors: Congratulations & Well Done

The club would like to acknowledge the success of the Senior team for the 2010/11 season and congratulate all involved.

The Seniors are promoted from MSL Division Two to Division One as champions.

They still have two games remaining, but had already wrapped up the title three weeks ago.  From 16 games played they won 13 and drew 3, with no defeats.  They scored 52 goals in 16 games, more than any other side in the three Senior MSL divisions, and conceded only 11.

They will return to the First Division next season with the expectation of challenging for promotion back to the Premier Division, where they belong!

We thank and congratulate management team of Ken Dennehy, Kevin McNamara and Brian O’Neill for guiding the club to its second MSL Senior League winners medal.  Contrary to what was indicated in last Friday’s Evening Echo feature on the team, the management of the team has very much been a three-way effort this season.  They have brought a wide range of experience both in playing and in coaching in the MSL to the Carrigaline senior team, resulting in a formidable triumvirate of coaching and inevitable success!

We of course also congratulate all of the players, who have been magnificent all season.

We are looking forward to next season already, but we hope that you will come down to Ballea Park on Friday April 29th for the last game of the season and the presentation of medals.  Kick-off at 7.30pm.  On the same evening the club will present the Cork ARC Cancer Support House with the total of funds raised at Ballea Park since the partnership with this great charity was launched last autumn.

Darragh Corcoran

Well done to Darragh Corcoran who represented Republic of Ireland Under 16 with distinction against Belgium at Turner’s Cross on 12/4/2011.

Darragh was man of the match for many onlookers and conducted himself impeccably.  A great ambassador for Carrigaline United.

More caps to come we hope.
